Textile Recycling

We’ve partnered with UPPAREL to offer recycling services for your items that can't be repurposed on Mills & York. This ensures they have a second life.

UPPAREL is an Australian company leading the way in textile recycling, and the world’s first circular essentials brand. With this partnership, we continue our commitment to a sustainable fashion future and give our members an easy way to have an immediate impact on textile landfill.

For just $25, you can have 10kgs of your old clothing, linen and shoes collected. As a thank you for helping minimise waste, you will receive a $25 voucher to spend at UPPAREL*.

*On your first collection only.

Green Cleaning

Hand-washing clothing is more time consuming, however it is far better for the environment and will improve the lifecycle of your clothes.

Washing your laundry in a sink or bathtub soak with cold water and a vegetable oil-based detergent will not only use less energy it will also help prevent the dye in your clothes from running and staining.

Hanging your clothes and air drying is also far more eco-friendly than using a dryer.

Note that some clothing marked “dry clean only” on the care instructions, such as delicates, can be hand-washed.

If your clothes must be dry-cleaned, choose your dry cleaner carefully; look for a dry cleaner that uses environmentally-friendly methods and chemicals, such as liquid carbon dioxide, or CO2, and wet cleaning.

We would like for you to make your choice and help the environment. A little bit of effort goes a long way.

In The Loop - a new community

More of us are taking the time to think about the way we buy. We want to minimise the footprint we leave on the environment, but we still want to buy the products and services we love. Welcome to In The Loop

We’re driving the #livecircular initiative and aligning ourselves with companies like ours to join a collective that we’re calling In The Loop. We’re doing this because we’re pretty sure you’re going to love what you find – not to mention because it’s better for the planet. We’re very proud to be part of the growing circular economy, and even prouder to be connected with the brilliant businesses who’ve already joined us in this new community.
